Where Have You Been?

facebook.com/ilovenightkids
Well, hello blog world! It is approaching noon here in New York. I'm sitting in my room with my ipod blasting in an empty apartment (with the exception of Twix, of course). All the roomies are at work. While I patiently wait for Thomas to get off work, I have nothing to do but clean my room and blog. It's been a hell of a while since I've updated this thing. My life has been hectic, hectic, hectic. With every free time devoted to eating and sleeping, school and Night Kids, I can't find myself having any time to myself. Night Kids have been working full throttle. We've been playing shows in Philly, Boston, NYC, and more recently, my hometown, Los Angeles. Below is a tidbit from our performance:

Being back in LA was great. I stayed at my mom's house with Thomas, which was comforting knowing she was in the next room. I guess since moving to New York, one thing I really missed was knowing my mom, brother, and doggies were within the same roof. We were there for a total of 36 hours, then right back to NYC. I love New York, and I have a couple more years here, but I'm eagerly anticipating moving back to California. Thomas and I have talked about the future, along with my parents, and we know that California is ultimately the place we want to be. As soon I receive my BA, we'll start looking at apartments in the LA area. New York will always hold a special place in my heart. I mean, it's been a little over a year, and it's been nonstop thrill after another. I don't regret moving here at all. I'm with the one I love, around the ones I love.

I'm gonna end this on a good note. I'll try to update my blog more frequently. I've yet to fix my own laptop (as I broke it in the midst of anger). Thomas has generously offered his to help compensate my loss. I'm hungry now. Please excuse me as I gorge myself in fatty foods.

Happy Valentine's Day (Kinda)

So, it's been a hell of time since I blogged, I feel. From the last blog, I returned from my mini-vacation in California (minus TJ, wahh), I started Spring '11 at Hunter, Night Kids played our biggest show in Philly, we broke our equipment, we got new equipment, blahblah. I broke my laptop! Which has seemed to be my vital connection to the viral world. I'll get it fixed soon enough, once I get a free day and go into the city.  Not too much as happened in the past three weeks though... but there is HUGE news going on with Night Kids (HUGE news coming up, which I'll post in another blog).

Anyways, this post was suppose to be me killing time until my date with Thomas. Tomorrow is officially Valentine's day but this year we decided to switch it up. Today will be my day. I get to pick where we eat/what we do/etc. He gets off work at 3pm, which is about 4.5hrs away. In a bit, I'm going to finish my V-Day's card, go to TopMan in SoHo to get him some new shoes, and then surprise pick him up from work to go to Ippudo NY, which is a very famous Japanese ramen place in the East Village (on 4th Av between 9th & 10th). After, I would like to take him to Bryant Park to go iceskating. If there's time, I would like to take him to the Brooklyn bridge waterfront. I might be too ambitious right now, because I have to think about time. Ah, I hope all goes according to plan today. I hope you all have a great Valentine's Day whether it's with a date or just with some friends. Pictures to be posted soon! :)

Weird.

It's weird being back in California without you, baby. It's as if California didn't exist before you came along.

Revisited.

I'm going back home! I haven't seen my family or friends since last summer, so it'll be GREAT to get a breather from New York and go back to what I am use to. Thomas is staying home for this trip due to work-timing conflicts. I'll be in California for ten days and not see Thomas for eight days. It's going to be a little odd being away from him because we haven't been apart for more than a day for the past year and three months. We've been together for over two years now, and I'm sure our relationship is stronger than ever to never let distance interfere with anything. So, my itinerary is as follows:

JAN18
  • depart New York, NY 1:25pm
  • arrive Chicago, IL 3:00pm
  • change in Chicago, IL 5:15pm
  • stop in Denver, CO
  • arrive Los Angeles, CA 8:55p,
taken 12/16/08 driving into DTLA
I'm not a big fan of traveling, in itself. With all the bullshit of traveling alone, carrying luggage, crying babies, travelers sitting obnoxiously close together, and the ridiculous stops and layovers... I am happy to say that the only thing that will get me by is getting off the plane, having the first smoke in a 12 hour period, calling TJ and telling him the bull I endured and how much I hate traveling, waiting for my awesomely cool big brother to drift down in his roaring car in front of the terminal to bring me home to my mom and my puppies. I miss my family so much. Again, it's still a growing transition to realize that they're not in the next room when I want to see them. I'll take this trip to be the happiest times I can spend with my family and friends for those ten days. Luckily, coming back to New York won't be tedious as going:

JAN27
  • depart Los Angeles, CA 8:15am
  • stop in Nashville, TN
  • stop in Baltimore, MD
  • arrive in New York, NY 6:55pm
Then I start class the next day at 8am. There we go!
