The countdown is on. Eight more days until Thomas and I head to Laguardia airport and head back home to Los Angeles! It's crazy to think that I haven't seen my family or friends for about eight months. I have always been in the nest, living at home. I grew up in East Los Angeles and have grown accustomed to the mellow, laid-back life LA has to offer. New York is drastically different. I use the subway as my daily commute, opposite of my lovely Accord. I miss being in control of time. Driving always put me in charge of everything. I knew exactly when I would be somewhere and how to get there. The subway lines in NY are confusing to say the least, but luckily I'm getting the hang of it. You have to cook your own food, or suffer the consequence of ordering out ($$$) verses mama's homecooked meals. These are just two privileges I miss having. Don't get me wrong, I love New York and I'm enjoying the life. It's just nice to know I have the option to go home and go back to what I spent my whole life doing.
Thomas and I will be back Saturday, July 24, 8:30p. For the next day we are driving to Las Vegas with Glen in celebration of his birthday. This will be fun, just like last year. We'll be back in a few days, giving us just enough time to return back, relax and have fun. Anyway, the purpose of this post was for me to jot down a quick to-do/Jacky-You-Better-Not-Forget list.
